You can buy dim-able CFLs now. They are a bit more pricey than regular CFLs but I've had mine for some time now and they are still going strong.

To be honest, that is the reason i was hesitating to switch to LED lighting, but as soon as i heard about the dim-able CFLs i went and tried some for a part of my house and i was very satisfied. I am thinking of doing the switch in my entire house now. It's true that they are more pricey but if you think about the long-term savings it's ok
