my back up genset is a light tower, (no lights).
Kubota diesel, 6 kw, can run bio and veg.

Frank - been...interesting. How about you?

Larry - I had one with a petit-lister motor and the light mast, traded it for a Bobcat welder as I have no need in the city for a loud generator...

yours was air cooled I think and is loud. The kubota is a D950 and is water cooled, pretty quiet and enclosed on in trailer (yes, bulky) with additional sound proofing. Pretty slick.

Thanks for the link/tip Chris (bookmarked).

I can't believe how long I've been "on the fence" with a genset purchase. It's been at the top of my list for years, I just can't seem to make up my mind. I've a little wooden storage shed adjacent my garage (& power meter + circuit box) that I'm hopeful I could sound-proof sufficiently, with proper air intake + exhaust. If I could fit something in there that could also run on (& have room for the xtra tank) WVO (of course) I'd be golden.
