Air-cooled diesel yanmar conversion project

I have an air-cooled diesel yanmar genset 5.5 kw that I plan on converting to a two tank VO system. I am not going to get super fancy, just want effectiveness. I have been juggling with the idea of using the exhaust heat to go through a thermal coil in the tank. Then have a temp sensor connected to the negative terminal of a 3port so that it will open up the VO loop once it gets to temp. Does this seem like it will work? What other issues might I face?
