FRYBRID GEN-3 Microprocessor:

Named the GEN-3 as this is the third generation of fuel microprocessor developed by FRYBRID.

This unit controls the switching between fuels (either automatically or with manual override), provides status indicators, and automatically flushes VO from the fuel system on shut down.

Indicators:

1) Diesel Mode (system operating on Diesel or Biodiesel fuel)
2) VO Mode (system operating on straight vegetable oil)
3) Purging (indicates that the system is auto-purging all VO from the fuel system)
4) VO Chime (Indicates that the engine has been shut down on VO or during Auto-Purge)

Features:

Auto switching - Allows the unit to automatically switch from Diesel/Biodiesel to VO as soon as the fuel temperature is sufficient (min.160degF). This feature can be disabled with the override switch.

Auto-Purge - Since the GEN-3 controls both the supply and return of fuels to the injection system it is able to purge all the VO contained in the fuel injection system, resulting in the fastest switch-over times available (3-5 seconds for VW applications, 7-10 for Mercedes - Tested with a 4 gas analyzer on a 1973 Mercedes 220D and a 1983 1.6TD VW) The Auto-Purge is activated by the operator shortly before shutting down the vehicle, it purges the system returning it to "Diesel Mode" and prevents the system from being switched to "VO mode" until the ignition has been cycled.

VO Warning - The GEN-3 has a warning chime which sounds if the engine is shut down whilst running on VO or during the Auto-Purge cycle. This buzzer sounds unless the engine is restarted and the purge cycle completed.

Manual Override - Allows the operator to manually override the GEN-3 disabling the VO fuel system. This feature is valuable if the vehicle will be used by those unfamiliar with its operation.

Construction: The GEN-3 is a solid state microprocessor which is environmentally sealed against hostile environments, can be submerged in water and will continue to operate from -25degC to +85degC. It has a 10 million operation lifetime, resets in 100 milliseconds and has UL certification.

Compatibility: The GEN-3 can be retrofitted to most currently available VO systems. Systems not currently fitted with a return line to the VO tank will need to have one installed. Available in 12vdc / 24vdc.
