1996 GMC Suburban

Veg Oil Conversion

Robin picking up her Suburban.

On the left of the dash is a VDO gauge pod containing the VO fuel level gauge

Under the climate control are 3 indicator lights, a switch and a push button.

+ Start the vehicle and the red light is on indicating power on and running on Diesel.
Engine reaches temp and the system automaticaly switches to VO (Red light goes out and green light comes on)

+ 11 Seconds before shutdown press the red push button and the yellow light comes on indicating the purge cycle is running.

+ 11 seconds later the yellow light shuts off and the red lights again and the engine may be shut down

Failure to run a purge cycle before shut down results in a very annoying buzzer which will continue until the engine is restarted and a purge cycle completed.

The switch in the center is an override switch allowing the VO system to be disabled.
